Reasons to keep your home clean and tidy

*You may find yourself distracted by organizing or surface cleaning. These distractions keep you from getting important things done and can make you feel as though you accomplished little by the end of the day. When your home is clean and organized, you’ll have fewer distractions and get more done.

*Lost something? In clean and tidy home you can find things quicker and easier. You’ll spend less time looking for things you’ve misplaced.

*Clean space allows the mind to relax and be more creative. When you’re surrounded by uncleanliness or a disorganized mess, your mind focuses more on the chaos and less on letting your creative juices flow.

*You will invite people over. There’s nothing more embarrassing than greeting friends with a dirty house. Don’t let a dirty home keep you from spending time with the people you love.

*It’s not good for humans of any age to live in filth, but especially children. Children are susceptible to bacteria, moulds, and mildews which can affect their health. Keeping your house clean and sanitized will keep your children and your whole family healthier.

*You’ll Sleep Better. There’s nothing more relaxing than jumping in a bed with clean sheets. Let your mind rest peacefully in a clean home.

Are you a landlord? Do you need a reliable domestic cleaner in Harrow?

What to look for in a cleaning company

Owning a property can be a great investment. If you own a property in Harrow this could yield you a substantial rental income, as rent costs in this location are among some of the highest in the UK. For any landlord, keeping the rental property in a good condition should be a top priority. One way to do this is to get the property professionally cleaned after each tenancy ends.

Even if the last tenants were super-clean and left the property in an immaculate condition, there will still be dirt and bacteria present that may not be visible to the eye.

Having a professional cleaning company, such as ourselves come in at the end of the tenancy and carry out a deep thorough clean will help maintain the property and it will help your property stand out to potential tenants.

The rental market is very competitive and tenants are looking for properties that are clean, tidy and well looked after. If your property meets all these criteria the chances of it standing empty for long are greatly reduced.

To find a cleaning company that will deliver the best service, it’s important to:

  • Ask what is included in the price and check for any additional costs.
  • Ask how quickly they can come and clean the property.
  • Ask how long it will take to clean the property.
  • Ask for references.

Also, look for reviews online and talk to somebody at the company. Give them a call and discuss what it is that is needed doing. It is possible to tell a lot about a company from speaking to them, for instance; do they sound; professional, friendly and accommodating. Here at 1 Stop Cleaning Solutions we are all of these. Our priority is to leave you with a property that is clean and tidy, and that is ready for the next tenant to move straight into. Nicola’s top 5 cleaning tips

Some people love it, others hate it. Which way you look at it, cleaning is a life’s necessity. Here at 1 Stop Cleaning Solutions our passion is cleaning and our experienced cleaning team love to leave your house gleaming. As spring is not far away, I thought I would share with you, my top 5 cleaning tips that will come in handy if you plan to do a ‘spring clean’. If you have little ones in the house as well, these tips could help reduce those germs that cause sickness bugs.

CLEANING THE STOVE
When cleaning the kitchen, it is a good idea to leave cleaning the stove to last, or if you can use a different cloth to clean it. The stove can have one of the dirtiest surfaces in the kitchen and by cleaning it first you could be unknowingly spreading germs and dirt onto other surfaces in the kitchen.

SPONGES
Sponges are breeding grounds for germs. They thrive in the cool moist environment of the sponge. It is not nice to think about all the microscopic germs growing in the thing that you use to clean your plates and cups with. To zap those germs into oblivion, before you go to bed every night, squeeze out the sponge and put it in the microwave for 1 minute. It will be good to go for the next round of washing up, the next morning.

CLEAN THE CLEANING TOOLS
It may sound silly to clean the tools that you use for cleaning the house, as they are only going to get dirty. But, giving them a clean every now and again will help to stop a build up of dirt forming on them. In particular, if you use a dustpan and brush to sweep your floors, maybe once a month, wipe the pan with a disinfectant wipe and wash the brush in some hot water.

AIRING CLOTHES
We all lead busy life’s these days, work, kids and pets, they all take up our time. A lot of us fit things in when we came, and washing is one of them. We put a load of washing on in the morning and then when we get back from work we take it out. Whilst, this is convenient it can also mean that your freshly washed clothes are in fact growing bacteria. Bacteria love dark damp areas, and a washing machine is a great place for bacteria to grow. If you can, take the washing out as soon as it has finished and hang it up to dry, or put it in the dryer.

SAY CURTAINS TO DIRT
Do you find that your shower curtain often gets marks on it from shampoo? Or, that the bottom frequently has mould growing on it? If so, don’t waste your money buying new one but it in the washing machine. Most plastic shower curtains are washable. Pop it in the washing machine on low heat setting with a couple of cups of white vinegar and some towels to stop the curtain from sticking together. When it is washed hang it back up on the shower rail to dry.
